Former Liberal P.M. Paul Martin, Known for Lukewarm (at Best) Support of Israel, to Get an Honourary Degree From Haifa U.--Much to the Delight of Justin Trudeau and a Who's Who of Liberal Jews

When it came to Israel, Paul Martin was, to say the leastno Stephen Harper. But, heck, why would Liberal Jewtopians let that stand in the way of a swanky soiree for a member of their tribe?

The University of Haifa is proud and honoured to confer upon Paul Martin its highest accolade, the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Honoris Causa) in recognition of his dedication to educating the Canadian Aboriginal population; his commitment to social responsibility; his steadfast position against antisemitism, racism and intolerance, and his solidarity with the State of Israel.

Update: In an '09 piece for FrontPage, Steven Plaut describes the nutty behavior of some of his Haifa U confreres:
At my own University of Haifa, left-wing faculty members exploded in a wave of outraged protests when the campus heads decided to fly Israeli flags as a gesture of solidarity with the embattled residents of the Negev towns. The leftists claimed this would be insensitive because it would offend the pro-jihad Arab students who fill the campus.
Why, "Honorary Patron" Justin Trudeau couldn't have put it better (i.e. worse) himself.

Anthony Weiner's "Sexting" is a Godsend If It Keeps MuBros Princess Huma from Becoming NYC's First Lady

Stoopid New Yawkers should be even more concerned about Huma's ties to the Muslim Brotherhood than they are about her hubby's pathetic love affair with his own shlong (hilariously misdiagnosed here as "low self esteem").

Barbara Hall and Her Ontario "Human Rights" Chuckleheads Have Great Fun at Our Expense

Ever wondered how the province's well-compensated "human rights" commissars spend their day? Here's a window into the hilarity and mirth that's apparently part of the job:
The staff at the Ontario Human Rights Commission held a joking contest to see if anyone could come up with a job that genuinely requires Canadian experience.
What about a Zamboni driver, someone asked. That was quickly laughed out of contention. There are ice rinks from Dubai to Durban.
What about a regulator administering an arcane branch of Canadian law? Chief Commissioner Barbara Hall had a five-word answer: “Knowledge of Canadian law required.”
As the game went on, the entries became far-fetched. What about an entomologist studying an indigenous beetle on a unique rock formation somewhere in the Canadian Shield? Everybody rolled their eyes.
The contest ended without a winner...
Wrong. The winner is....(envelope, please): the Ontario Human Rights Commission, which has come up with yet another way to push us around--and justify its benighted existence.

Blogger in Saudi Arabia Sentenced to 600 Lashes for "Blasphemy"

That sharia is soooo sane and humane, no?
CNN) -- A Saudi court has sentenced a activist to seven years in prison and 600 lashes for violating the nation's anti-cybercrime law, Human Rights Watch reported Wednesday.
A Jeddah Criminal Court found Raif Badawi, who has been in prison since June 2012, guilty this week of insulting Islam through his website and in television comments.

"This incredibly harsh sentence for a peaceful blogger makes a mockery of Saudi Arabia's claims that it supports reform and religious dialogue," said Nadim Houry, the deputy Middle East director at Human Rights Watch. "A man who wanted to discuss religion has already been locked up for a year and now faces 600 lashes and seven years in prison."
His lawyer, Waleed Abu al-Khair, told Human Rights Watch that Judge al-Harbi read the verdict Monday. The court is expected to send him a written notification by August 6. They'll have 30 days to appeal...
Yeah, maybe he can get it reduced to, say, 300 lashes.

Yemeni Moppet Whose YouTube Vid Went Viral Prompts CNN to Claim Issue of Child Marriage in Yemen is "Complicated"

Sayeth the infidels re the distraught 11-year old and others like her:
In deeply tribal Yemen, the issue of child marriage is extremely complicated.
In 2008, 10-year-old Nujood Ali shocked the world when she went to a court in Sanaa and asked a judge for a divorce.
After a highly publicized trial, she was granted one. She became a heroine to those trying to raise awareness about Yemen, where more than half of all young girls are married before age 18, according to Human Rights Watch.
In 2009, Yemen's parliament passed legislation raising the minimum age of marriage to 17. But conservative parliamentarians argued the bill violated Islamic law, which does not stipulate a minimum age of marriage, and the bill was never signed. Activist groups and politicians are still trying change the law, but more than 100 leading religious clerics have said restricting the age of marriage is "un-Islamic."...
It's "extremely complicated," is it? Well, maybe to those who'd prefer to ignore the precedent set when Islam's founder married his child bride, Aisha.

Just in Time for Al Quds Day 2013, Iran Hosts "International" Confab on Palestine

Hitler, that old Jooliminationist, used Judenhass to unite the masses and solidify his hold on power. Iran, the pre-eminent 'liminationist of our time, uses Zionhass in the same way and for the same reason:
(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Cultural and international figures, ambassadors of different countries as well as representatives of Palestinian movements will convene in an international conference to discuss the issue of Palestine and capacities of Muslim world for more unity and resistance against enemies.
Iran’s Organization of Culture and Islamic Relations and Committee of Support for Palestinian Intifada in Iran’s Parliament hold international conference on “Palestine, Axis of Muslim World Unity” attended by prominent figures including grand Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Taskhiri, a senior advisor of the Supreme Leader in Muslim world affairs, Mohammad Baqer Khorramshad, Head of the Organization of Culture and Islamic Relations, ambassadors of Islamic countries in Tehran and also representatives of Palestinian movements.
Two years into Islamic Awakening movements in the Middle East and Northern African countries, the importance of boosting resistance to foil the efforts of arrogant powers for deviating liberal Islamic moves is quite known.

Certainly the issue of Palestine and Al Quds, as the symbol of unity and awakening of Muslims, is the only axis that can blossom great capacities of the Muslim world and unite them against enemies.
For the same end, Iran’s Organization of Culture and Islamic Relations and Committee to support Intifada at Iran’s Parliament will hold international conference to discuss the issue of Palestine and unity of Muslim communities to end the crisis in this Muslim country.
When Zafar and Co. are bloviating about the poor, hard-done-by Palestinians during this year's Al Quds Days celebrations, remember this: they don't care squat about real, live Palestinians. They are merely using "the issue of Palestine and Al Quds" as a means of uniting and awakening Muslims in order to empower Tehran's megalomaniacal Khomeinists.

J Street's Smug Leader Says He Has Obama's "Ear"

Only one of 'em? Well, considering their size, I guess one is enough.

No doubt about it--the wrong Jews (i.e. faux-Zionist Jewtopians) are wielding power in Washington:
Ben-Ami, describing J Street as “a moderate, centrist place,” also touted his organization’s influence in Washington, a position traditionally dominated by the American Israel Public Affairs Committee.
“We have the ear of the White House; we have the ear of a very large segment of Congress at this point; we have very good relations with top communal leadership in the Jewish community.”
And, not sticking simply to politics, he addressed a scandal involving controversial billionaire investor George Soros, in which J Street denied accepting money from him before leaked IRS documents proved otherwise. Ben-Ami, skirting the organization’s earlier deceptive practices, proved more transparent this time, confiding that not only does Soros donate, but that “his son is a contributor now, too.”
If the Zion-loathing Soroses are throwing shekels your way, you're about as "centrist" and "moderate" (and pro-Israel) as they are.

ISNA Canada Responds to Toronto Star/Canadian Revenue Agency Allegations Re Siphoning Funds to Support the Jihad in Kashmir

In response to this article in the Toronto Star, ISNA Canada (which recently hosted Liberal leader Justin Trudeau) issued this presser:
Jesse McLean’s article in Thursday’s Star (July 25, 2013) is based largely on a letter from the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) that makes speculative allegations about how ISNA Development Foundation (IDF) funds may have been used in Kashmir.  IDF sent funds to Kashmir years ago with the intent of helping orphans and the needy.  The CRA’s audit of IDF speculates on how those funds may have been used.  Most troubling is CRA’s speculation that funds may have been used or diverted to militant groups in the region.  Its letter says that IDF “may have, knowingly or unknowingly, extended the benefits of its status as a registered charity to fund the activities of an organization whose resources may be used…” [emphasis added] to support the efforts of a political organization and its armed wing.  Your article fails to note that CRA’s letter relies extensively on the use of the word “may” without any proof that funds were in fact misused.  In fact, the article’s headline itself uses the word “may”, i.e., “…may have ended up in the hands of violent militants.”  Meanwhile, the audit continues and ISNA Canada will cooperate fully with the tax authorities as the organization has done since the audit began in November 2011.  That said, we think it is unhelpful to cast aspersions about support for militant groups on a charity and the law abiding citizens that it serves based on pure speculation.
The "emphasis" is added because ISNA's sole defense seems to be an emphasis on semantics.

A "charity" comprised of "law-abiding citizens" supporting, ahem, "militant" groups in far-off lands? Now, why does that sound so familiar?

Update: BCF posts the CRA letter here.

Is What Canada Did to Its Aboriginals a "Genocide"? The "Human Rights" Mausoleum Says No

The latest controversy at victimhood central:
THE Canadian Museum for Human Rights will not use the word "genocide" to describe Canada's aboriginal policies during the last century, including the residential schools system and forced relocations.
That's despite a growing academic consensus Canada did indeed commit genocide, and repeated calls by aboriginal leaders -- including, most recently, Phil Fontaine -- for the federal government to recognize its role in the destruction of indigenous culture and institutions...
"It's a shame. I think the museum needs to be a leader, not a follower on this," said University of Manitoba Prof. Adam Muller, a genocide expert. "You look at colonial activity in the Americas and it seems clear to me, at the end of the day, they were trying to destroy a group and way of life."
Those familiar with the museum's plans to tackle indigenous issues understood the word would be included in its exhibits. But after what spokeswoman Maureen Fitzhenry said was extensive internal debate and an ongoing process of revision, the museum's senior staff decided not to use the word. The decision was made about a month ago.
Fitzhenry said the museum is not a court or government -- the two bodies that have traditionally decided what counts as a genocide. And she said academic research is still evolving.
"We don't want to be seen as advocating or involving ourself in a debate that is still playing out," said Fitzhenry.
She also said that, as a Crown corporation, it's important the museum's terminology align with that of the federal government, which has not recognized Canada's aboriginal policies as a genocide.
Parliament recognizes five official genocides -- the Holocaust, the Holodomor, the Armenian genocide and the atrocities in Rwanda and the Bosnian town of Srebrenica...
Ironic, no?, that the government that foolishly backed this misbegotten behemoth will likely end up being savaged for refusing to sign off on this sixth official genocide.

The Khomeinists' Brilliant Anti-Harper Strategy--Disguising/Advancing Their Shia Sharia Agenda Via a Feigned Love for Canadian Aboriginals and the Environment

You gotta hand it to 'em: when it comes to P.R., these Mahdi men are evil geniuses.

Update: In this zany Press TV screed, the krazed Khomeinists bash both Conservative Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Liberal Harper-hater/victimhood proponent/First Nations champion Bernie Farber:
The Native resistance movement has continued to grow in the past half century. And anyone with even a slight awareness of how Natives in Canada were dispossessed and abused by colonial settlers can easily see the parallel between Canada’s Natives and the Palestinians, who have suffered a century of identical treatment by Jews immigrating to Palestine, which the latter arbitrarily renamed ‘Israel’ in 1948. As Natives become more aware of their common struggle with other aboriginal peoples around the world, they are bound to identify with the Palestinians and their struggle against the colonial settlers.

So it makes perfect sense for Canada’s Zionists to be proactive, to try to convince Canada’s Natives that it is the (largely European and American) Jews who are indigenous to Palestine, not the native Arabs. The story the Cree are told on their Youth Leadership Development Missions is that Israelis, like the Natives, are merely trying to reassert their legitimate indigenous rights to their land. The screaming headlines about the Canadian government “genocide” against the Natives a century ago just happen to be accompanied by self-serving lectures about the Nazi Holocaust, the ‘Final Solution’, and even allusions to the infamous Dr Mengele experimenting on Jewish victims.

This shameful manipulation of events surrounding a genuine Native tragedy is despicable. It is also a direct slap in the face for Prime Minister Harper with his fawning allegiance to Israel, as codified by one of his first foreign relations moves-the public security cooperation “partnership” with Israel signed in 2008. Does [Bernie] Farber have no allegiance to Canada’s prime minister? Isn’t his sudden embrace of Native resistance just a tad duplicitous?

Gemini Power’s VP is not only a corporate fat cat, but a self-proclaimed “social activist” who according to Wikipedia “works in partnership with First Nations to help develop sustainable business”. This translates into: convince the Natives to sell out to resource-hungry corporations like Gemini Power and their government lackeys, intent on building such wonders as liquefied natural gas terminals on the west coast, chromite mining and smelting projects in the James Bay, and tar sands oil production in Alberta.

Is it possible that before Farber published his article in the Toronto Star 19 July, he had a pow wow with Chief Harper, apologizing for the comparison of Canadian government officials to Nazi genocidal maniacs, but explaining that it was all part of a larger win-win plan for them both to defraud the hapless Natives of their resources? What are a few ‘slings and arrows’ between a corporate honcho and his government lackey?

Harper can use all the help he can muster these days, given that the bulk of the Native community is supporting not Israel, but Idle No More, which has declared war on the Conservatives’ attempt to replace the government’s treaty obligations with market mechanisms in Bills C-45 and C-38.

Farber failed to mention the fact that Israel itself conducted similar ‘Dr Mengele’ experiments on its own Jewish citizens-north African and Ethiopian Jews, who swallowed the Zionist propaganda and fled their traditional homes and cultures to live in the ‘Jewish state’. According to the documentary “100,000 Radiation” shown on Israeli TV in 2003, starting in 1951, the American army paid the Israeli Health Ministry to radiate children to test for side effects of radiation. An entire generation of Sephardi youths were unwittingly used as guinea pigs.

Yet another Israeli TV documentary aired in 2012 revealed that until recently, Ethiopian Jews were forcibly injected with Depo-Provera, a drug to make them sterile, before they were allowed to immigrate to Israel.

Is Zionist media control so all-powerful as to prevent Canadians and especially Canadian Natives from seeing through the bald-faced lies that Israel and its lobbyist tell, and the truths they hide?
In answer to that deranged query: why yes; yes it is. ;)

Also: the above rant goes to show that Mr. Farber can align himself with the most "progressive" causes around, but to the Zion-loathing Khomeinists, he's just another "Zionist" (much as, in the same way and for the same reasons, to the Nazis, even the most assimilated German Jew was just another verminous Jude).

Toronto Star Gushes Over Iranian-Born "Wunderkids" Mentored by--Yikes!--Chris Spence and Ben Levin

Indoctrinated by the likes of Levin and Spence, the lads look forward to a bright political future:
They were born in Tehran 18 years ago, just four months apart. They weren’t related, nor were their families friends, but in an almost eerie turn of fate, the baby boys ended up in Toronto side-by-side as student trustees for the largest school board in Canada.
The A-plus Persian-born power duo are believed to be the first Iranian-born teens ever elected as student trustees in Ontario. They have just finished one of the rockiest school years in memory, between labor turmoil, political protest and a plagiarism scandal that saw their beloved mentor, Chris Spence, ousted as director of education at the Toronto District School Board.
Another advisor, professor and government advisor Ben Levin, was recently charged with child pornography offences.
Yet the dapper, well-spoken young activists, both heading to university in the fall, have not lost their faith in politics.
“I still think politics is beautiful. For me, it’s really about being the representative of the people,” said Kourosh Houshmand, whose father was a pro-democracy supporter and former health minister of Iran who spent time in jail for his beliefs. His mother is an artist whose great-uncle was the Iranian poet Sohrad Sepehri.
“As for Dr. Levin, I was quite shocked to hear the accusations because I truly looked up to him — I interviewed him for a book I’m writing on the student view of education reform, and I had attended his talks on education, the most recent being about a month ago,” said Kourosh, who also took the fall of Chris Spence hard.
“What the whole Chris Spence ordeal showed me was that you really have to be careful. He was one of the most kind, good-willed people I’ve met, and it was hard to see that happen.”
Still, it hasn’t soured him on school politics...
In a saner world, it would have (and should have).

Then: Exquisitely Refined Bien Pensant Types Characterize Anti-Communists as Hysterical, Knuckle-Dragging Nut-Jobs. Today: Bien Pensants Do the Same to Counterjhadists

Bruce Bawer, a card-carrying counter-jihadist who lives in Norway (of all places), writes:
I’m old enough to recall the obloquy heaped upon [anti-Communists] by bien pensant types – professors and high-toned journalists who considered active, vocal opposition to Communism the most lowbrow of pastimes. Yes, whereas today’s counter-counterjihadists act as if jihad is a figment of counterjihadists’ fevered imaginations, the anti-anti-Communists (a label they wore with pride) at least acknowledged – albeit in a bland, bored way – that Communism existed. Sometimes they even admitted that it wasn’t all that terrific. But by focusing their animus on anti-Communism, and remaining all but silent about the evils of Communism itself – indeed, by insisting that the very application of words like “evil” to Communism (à la Ronald Reagan) was infantile and hyberbolic – they drove home the idea that overt anti-Communism was worse – by which they meant less intelligent, less sophisticated, less worldly – than Communism itself. Indeed, even as self-identified Communists in America and throughout the West held positions of trust in the academy, government, the arts, and elsewhere, anti-Communists came to be viewed as fanatical, paranoid conspiracy theorists who, in the phrase of the day, saw “a Communist under every bed.” Even now, the Hollywood Ten, a group of directors and screenwriters who in 1947 were cited for contempt of Congress for refusing to answer questions about their Communist Party affiliations, are considered heroes of American freedom, even though it is a matter of public record that all ten of them turned out, in fact, to be Stalinists, dedicated to destroying American freedom; meanwhile, director Elia Kazan – a former member of the Party who named names” because he recognized Stalinism as a genuine menace to American freedom – is still remembered as a fink.
So it is today with Islam. The “counterjihadists”  are the villains – the hysterics, the fools, who see a Muslim under every bed, with a bomb in his turban. Meanwhile the good guys are the counter-counterjihadists – the journalists, activists, and others who make a career of slamming Islam’s critics, whom they frequently represent (especially over here in Scandinavia) as “conspiracy theorists.”...
BTW, it bears repeating all these years later that Alger Hiss, darling of the chattering classes, was a Communist who was in the employ--and who served the interests--of Soviet mass-murderers, and Whittaker Chambers, his nemesis, was a hero.

Update: The real hysterics are those who equate the Tea Party (a group of people who have the temerity to want to limit the size and intrusiveness of the state) with the Taliban (jihadists who want to enact Draconian sharia law, the most intrusive, liberty-inhibiting religio-political system ever).

Hope to see y'all on Saturday in front of our provincial legislature when the local Khomeinists and their supporters celebrate the odious Ayatollah's annual Zionhass-a-palooza.

Turkish Cuckoos Detain Then Release Bird Suspected of Being an Israeli Spy

It's obvious who the real bird brain is here:
Turkish authorities detained a bird on suspicion it was spying for Israel, but authorities released it after X-rays showed it was not embedded with bugging devices, local media reported Friday.
The kestrel, a member of the falcon genus, with a tag reading “24311 Tel Avivunia Israel,” was turned in to the local governor by residents in the village of Altinayva, Reuters reported.
The bird apparently was registered at a university hospital as an “Israeli spy” by medical personnel, The Times of Israel said. Authorities freed the kestrel after determining it had been tagged only for research purposes.
The Times of Israel reported that Israeli spying is a large concern in the Middle East. In May 2012, authorities in Ankara dissected a European bee-eater after suspecting it was snooping for Israel, and in December an eagle with an Israeli tag in Sudan was captured and touted as a spy.

Anthony's Weiner Drives Globe and Mail Opiner Tabatha Southey Into a Penis Paroxysm

Hard to believe (no pun intended) that this type of drivel is what passes for incisive commentary at Canada's newspaper of record:
...Maybe there’s a map to buried treasure on Mr. Weiner’s penis, or the key to deciphering Linear A. Maybe Mr. Weiner has the Rosetta Stone of penises and he’ll just have to keep showing it to people until someone recognizes its significance because, people, this is history.
“For pity’s sake, read my penis!” poor Mr. Weiner cries out to an all-too-easily titillated Internet, one that continually misses the point and just yells, “Penis!”
“My wife doesn’t understand my penis,” he goes on. “It’s in Greek. For the love of God, check it out. I’m fairly sure the second book of Aristotle’s Poetics is on there.”
Yes, this is what I choose to believe.
Maybe Tabatha Southey is a penis brain.

"Dr." Chris Spence's Ridiculous "Regret"

Disgraced former TDSB head Chris Spence, who resigned when his chronic plagiarism was exposed, thinks six months is long enough to atone for his errors: he wants to get back in the education saddle a.s.a.p.

I'd say that this--what "Dr." Spence says he most regrets--speaks volumes about why that should not be allowed to happen:
My biggest regret is just the way everything ended. I believe that I was on my way to a pretty good legacy in terms of the work that I’d done … I really felt that we were changing the trajectory, the lives of kids and then this all went down,” Dr. Spence said.
Er, shouldn't his biggest regret be the chronic plagiarism (and changing that "trajectory")?

“It’s Not the Palestinians Who are Essentially Holding Up the Peace Process, It Is Israel”

Peter Beinart says the dumbest thing ever; Harpoon Siddiqui high-fives it (of course).

Update: Here's my letter to Harpoon's employer:
Haroon Siddiqui salutes Peter Beinart for being able to criticize Israel without "demonizing" it. But since Beinart asserts that Israel alone is responsible for impeding the progress of peace with the Palestinians--a claim that is both demonstrably bogus and a gross distortion of the facts--isn't that precisely what he's doing?  Obviously, if Israel is viewed as being the one and only bad guy, it is ipso facto the "demon" of the narrative, even if the "d" word is never actually deployed.

John Kerry Cites Israel-Palestinian Issue as "Core" Reason for Mideast "Instability"

Wrong, John. The core reason is Islam and its supremacist doctrines. If you don't get that, you don't get anything.

How Did the Muslim Brotherhood Mess Up So Fast in Egypt?

Erick Stakelbeck, who wrote a book about the Islamist movement, explains it like this:
...[T]he Muslim Brotherhood, long the world’s most politically astute, patient, and disciplined Islamist movement, overplayed its hand so badly in Egypt and revealed its true intent so early. At the end of the day, instituting sharia was more important to Morsi and his fellow Brothers than feeding the Egyptian people or making even the slightest attempt at jumpstarting the Egyptian economy. That in itself is not surprising. This is who the Brothers are, after all: committed ideological fanatics. What is surprising is that they made it so obvious, so soon.
With all due respect to the author, given that they're committed ideological fanatics who have been lusting for power--and for sharia law in Egypt--for so long, I don't think it's at all surprising. What's surprising is that anyone would believe that democracy (real democracy, not merely the act of casting a ballot) and sharia were in any way compatible.

In Other "My Dinner With Justin" News...

No official word yet as to who "won" this:
OTTAWA — How much is a five-person barbecue dinner with Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau worth to you?
Federal Liberals sent out an email this week offering Canadians who donate $5 or more to the party between now and June 30 a chance to win a barbecue dinner for five with the Grit leader this summer.
It’s the party’s latest fundraising effort and is a clear attempt to combine Canadians’ love of grilling with what Liberals are hoping is Trudeau’s celebrity appeal.
“The leader loves having the chance to meet one-on-one with Canadians,” said Liberal party spokesman Olivier Duchesneau. “And obviously Canadians love to barbecue in the summer, so it was a great fit.”
But because the fundraiser is also a contest – the winner of the barbecue date will be chosen through a random draw – Duchesneau said the party was legally required to come up with a value for the prize.
And there it is in the fine print: “Approximate value of $999 CAD.”
Duchesneau said it’s easy to put a value on a physical prize like an iPad, but putting a number on a barbecue dinner with the man Liberals are hoping will be the next prime minister was a bit trickier...
Not at all. In fact, you'd have to pay me to spend time with him--and there isn't enough moolah in the world.

Reason Enough for Justin Trudeau NOT to Speak at ISNA Canada's Iftar Dinner

Dear Justin: ISNA Canada, a Muslim Brotherhood offshoot, wants to spread Islam and its laws a Marie usque ad Mare. It says so right here:
10. ISNA is dedicated to da’wah, which means reaching out to convey the clear message of Islam, speaking out against all wrongs and injustices, advocating Islamic solutions to societal problems and becoming involved in effecting righteous change in North America.
"Islamic solutions"/"righteous change"=sharia law. Capiche?

After Giving Props to the Judicial Process in the Zimmerman Case, Obama Siccs His DOJ on Zimmerman

A new low for the Obami, I'd say.

Samantha Power's "Astoundingly Ignorant and Malicious" World View

In 2002, at the height of the second intifada, the woman set to become America's next ambassador to the UN said this:
I actually think in the Palestine-Israeli situation there’s an abundance of information and what we don’t need is some kind of early warning mechanism. What we need is a willingness to actually put something on the line in helping the situation. And putting something on the line might mean alienating a domestic constituency of tremendous political and financial import. It may more crucially mean sacrificing, or investing I think more than sacrificing, really billions of dollars not in servicing Israel’s military, but actually investing in the new state of Palestine; investing billions of dollars it would probably take also to support I think what will have to be a mammoth protection force, not of the old, you know, Srebrenica kind or the Rwanda kind, but a meaningful military presence.
Because it seems to me at this stage–and this is true of actual genocides as well, and not just major human rights abuses which we’re seeing there–but you have to go in as if you’re serious. You have to put something on the line. And unfortunately imposition of a solution on unwilling parties is dreadful, it’s a terrible thing to do, it’s fundamentally undemocratic. But sadly, we don’t just have a democracy here either, we have a liberal democracy. There are certain sets of principles that guide our policy–or they’re meant to anyway. And there, it’s essential that the same set of principles becomes the benchmark, rather than a deference to people who are fundamentally, politically destined to destroy the lives of their own people. And by that I mean what Tom Friedman has called “Sharafat.”
I mean, I do think in that sense that both political leaders have been dreadfully irresponsible, and unfortunately it does require external intervention which–very much like the Rwanda scenario, that thought experiment, if we had intervened early–any intervention is going to come under fierce criticism, but we have to think about lesser evils, especially when the human stakes are becoming ever more pronounced.
Any woman who manifests such stark Zionhass and quotes Thomas L. Friedman should fit right in at the OIC-dominated UN.

The Laughing Khomeinist

Who knew Iran's new president was so gosh-darned ebullient?
Iranian president-elect Hassan Rouhani has dismissed Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's threats of a military strike on the Islamic Republic as laughable, the French news agency AFP reported on Wednesday, citing the Iranian media.
“When some (the United States and Israel) say that all options are on the table and when a miserable regional country (Israel) says such things, it makes you laugh,” AFP quoted Rouhani as saying in an address to Iran-Iraq war veterans.
“Who are the Zionists to threaten us?” AFP quoted him as saying...
Who are they? They're your D-O-O-M, Hasswipe.

THIS is Pedagogy at Ben Levin's OISE? Oy Vey!

The brainiacs at OISE (Ben Levin's former home) apparently think this is très important:
OISE alumni were front and centre at OISE Spring Reunion for a talk by Dr. Suzanne Stewart, ‘Indigenizing Education.’ The lecture is part of the OISE Alumni Association’s ongoing Alumni Leader Series and has become a popular feature of Spring Reunions. Suzanne, of OISE’s department of Applied Psychology and Human Development is special advisor to the dean on Aboriginal education.
The lecture opened with a traditional Aboriginal smudge ceremony performed by Elder Cat (Mark) Criger (Traditional Elder for UTM; Traditional Teacher, First Nations House, U of T; Standing Elder for the Council for Aboriginal Initiatives for the U of T) who also conducted a traditional closing, a first for OISE’s Spring Reunion event.
Suzanne spoke of the challenges of nation-wide exclusion in schools, colleges and universities of Aboriginal wisdom. “Aboriginal education is important to all Canadians,” she said, adding that there is still work to be done on including Two-Spirited (Aboriginal LGBTQ) history in curricula. “I’m disappointed in how slowly our institutions are making changes but what is hopeful is the number of allies who understand the necessity of this being taught. Today’s teacher candidates are hungry for information on First Nations history and issues and we must provide the tools.”...
That's where we differ, Suzanne. I see absolutely no place for Two-Spirited history in public school curricula.

Update: What's a "smudge ceremony"? Apparently, it involves burning herbs to dispel all the bad stuff:
Our Native elders have taught us that before a person can be healed or heal another, one must be cleansed of any bad feelings, negative thoughts, bad spirits or negative energy - cleansed both physically and spiritually. This helps the healing to come through in a clear way, without being distorted or sidetracked by negative "stuff" in either the healer or the client. The elders say that all ceremonies, tribal or private, must be entered into with a good heart so that we can pray, sing, and walk in a sacred manner, and be helped by the spirits to enter the sacred realm.
The sacred realm? At OISE? Now, that's funny. Question: did OISE have to get special dispensation from the Toronto fire department to conduct this ritual?

Flat Broke Toronto School Board Goes Far Afield to Find New Students

All the way to China, in fact:
The cash-strapped Toronto District School Board is looking to China to help fill funding gaps.

Reports in the National Post say the TDSB is looking to attract more foreign students to Toronto's schools.

That's because these students pay to learn while they are here, high school students to the tune of $14,000 per school year.  The rate is $12,500 for elementary students.

The school board opened a marketing office in Beijing in April and is running as a pilot project for six months at a cost of about $17,000.

The TDSB has contracted out Chinese recruiters to attract students in the past but thinks more can be done.

TDSB schools have seen a 53% rise in foreign student enrolment from 2008 to 2012, which works out to just over 1,400 students.

Almost 1,000 of them were from China.

The Board aims have 5,000 foreign students enrolled each school year, or 1% of the TDSB student body.
The TDSB accepts more foreign students from China than from any other country...
Sorry, but it seems bonkers to me to try to "fix" a broken system by educating kids from a completely different country.

Kathleen Wynne Shocked--SHOCKED!--By Allegations That Her Former Deputy Min of Ed Has a Penchant for Kiddie Porn, Claims He Had NOTHING to Do With Crafting Notorious Sex-Ed Curriculum

While some Liberal loyalists await apologies from "right-wing pundits" who make "ass-umptions," documents that can be readily found on the Internet belie the Premier's claim that the most senior person in the education ministry would have had nada to do with what the ministry had identified as a crucial ukase. As a commenter named "moosehead" observed:
You're telling me that the Deputy Minister of Education and a professor at the University of Toronto’s Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, would not somehow leave his fingerprints over a new educational curriculum before passing it up to his Minister and on to the Premier. I worked for government and I would find that extremely hard to believe.
I've never worked there, but I would find it impossible to believe. (Ben Levin the Eric Holder/Sgt. Schultz of the McGuinty government? That, too, is impossible to believe.)

Update: Ben Levin letter raises questions

What the Morally Bankrupt EU Does--and Doesn't--Care About

It cares about Jooos building stuff in Israel; it doesn't much care about the "rape jihad" (because that would be, you know, "Islamophobic"). Thus do Muslims domiciled in Europe continue to leverage residual Holocaust guilt, while, in an effort to expiate the same guilt, the exquisitely "virtuous" EUnuchs focus their anger and frustration on Israel.

Wearing a Burka a Great Disguise for a "Smash and Grab," Not So Great When You Want to Make a Quick Getaway

A cautionary tale from the Daily Mail:
Two brothers today admitted their part in a £1.5million smash-and-grab raid on Selfridges in London by a gang masquerading as burka-wearing women.
Sam Curtin, 24, and Connor Groake, 19, were members of a six-strong group who mingled with shoppers before smashing open display cabinets in the evening attack at the department store.
They snatched 42 luxury watches before attempting to make their escape on a stolen moped, but were arrested after crashing the vehicle and being held by members of the public...

The Top Three "7 Canadians With More Than a Dozen Honorary Degrees" a Trifecta of Loopy Lefties

From The Maclean's Book of Lists, Vol. 2, p. 41:
    1. Number of degrees: 38 Louise Arbour, former Supreme Court justice and past United Nations high commissioner for human rights. Includes Abo Akademi University in Finland, and the National University of Ireland.
    2. 37: Stephen Lewis, board chair of the Stephen Lewis Foundation and former UN secretary-general's special envoy for HIV/AIDS in Africa. Includes Dartmouth College and Johns Hopkins University in the U.S.
    3. 28: biologist and conservationist David Suzuki. Includes Flinders University in Adelaide, South Australia, and Open University in Milton Keynes, England.
The rest of the names on the list: Roberta Bondar, Margaret Atwood, Jean Chretien and Romeo Dallaire. (BTW, one of former Prime Minister Chretien's degrees is from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, even though, being Liberal, Chretien's government voted in lockstep and gave thumbs up to virtually every kooky anti-Israel resolution that came down the UN pike; we can also "thank" Chretien for the Khadr disaster because he was the one who interceded to get Papa Khadr, a purported "charity" worker, sprung from a Pakistan hoosegow.)

Saudi Airlines Flying Out of NYC's JFK Airport Is So Inclusive/Exclusive That It Accepts Bookings from "Antarcticans" But Not From Israelis

The city's Public Advocate is looking into the Wahhabis' blatant discrimination/Zionhass, a violation of American law:
The issue was originally brought to the attention of De Blasio’s office by passengers who attempted to fly the airline, but were rebuffed. An investigation into the matter by his office confirmed the airline’s prejudice. Attempts to book tickets by a staffer in his office posing as an Israeli national both through the airline’s website and over the phone proved the complaints were founded on truth.
In the case of the airline’s website, a drop down menu does not include Israel, though it was otherwise so comprehensive that even Antarctica appeared as an option, though, as De Blasio pointed out, “in fact, there are no citizens of Antarctica.” The faux Israeli staffer was also rebuffed when calling over the telephone to reserve a seat, being told by a ticket agent he could not fly the airline.
The discriminatory practice violates federal law, which says an “air carrier or foreign air carrier may not subject a person in air transportation to discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, sex or ancestry,” as well as several New York State laws...

Moppets Balk at Having Crudites Shoved Down Their Throats as Part of Michelle Obama's Healthy Eats Program; Hunger and Mega-Waste Result

You can lead the kids to carrots but you can't make 'em eat, even if the First Lady is the veggie-pusher:
In an article published last week by The Lafayette Journal & Courier, staff at the two school systems offered a frank appraisal of the healthier lunch options mandated by the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010.
"I've had a lot of complaints, especially with the little guys," North White School Corp. food service director Linda Wireman said. "They get a three-quarters cup of vegetables, but if it's something they don't like, it goes down the garbage disposal. So there are a lot of complaints they're going home hungry."
Tippecanoe School Corp. food service director Lori Shofroth said: "We did a waste study on three different schools, and there was a huge amount of waste. That was just with produce, fruit or vegetables or milk."...

Word Du Jour: "Controversial"

Bruce Bawer identifies the two groups to whom it's affixed:
So let’s break this down – short and sweet. According to the media, two types of people are to be considered “controversial” when it comes to the subject of Islam. One type consists of those Muslims who have made crystal clear their ardent support for violent, murderous jihad against infidels and for the brutal, merciless punishments laid down by sharia law – in other words, Islamic orthodoxy. The other type consists of those non-Muslims who, often at the risk of their own lives, dare to spell out the plain fact that Islamic orthodoxy does, indeed, consist of the above.

In a Make-Work Project for Herself and her "Human Rights" Racket, Barbara Hall Puts the Screws to Small Businesses in Ontario

More "human rights" nonsense from "human rights" diva Hall:
Employers and professional regulators who require “Canadian experience” from newcomers when they apply for a job or accreditation could run afoul of Ontario’s Human Rights Code.
The Ontario Human Rights Commission (OHRC) on Monday launched a new policy directive denouncing the requirement for so-called “Canadian experience” as discriminatory.
Although employers and professional regulatory bodies can’t exclude anyone based on race, ancestry, colour, place of origin and ethnic origin, the new policy targets the requirement that newcomers have Canadian experience when searching for jobs and professional accreditation.
“Some employers are using the Canadian experience requirement as a proxy for discrimination, which they know is illegal. But even when hidden, discrimination in employment is still against the law,” OHRC Chief Commissioner Barbara Hall told a news conference.
“The policy we are launching can help remove these barriers and give employers and regulatory bodies the tools they need to respect human rights. The starting point . . . is a simple one: insisting on Canadian experience is discrimination under the Human Rights Code.”...
You mean having work experience in, say, Somalia is the same as work experience in Canada? That would only be fair in Canadians can go to Somalia and, without any local experience at all, set themselves up as pirates. ;)

OIC to the West: There's No Such Thing as "Islamic Terrorism"

Appropriate infidel response to such a claim: But I thought there were no jokes in Islam.

Israel in the Crosshairs of Saudi Arabia and Iran

One might impute it to a Sunni-Shia thing were it not for the unfortunate fact that the Wahhabis (like the Khomeinists) seem intent on obliterating what both are wont to call "the Zionist entity":
Saudi Arabia has built missile launch pads that target both Iran and Israel with ballistic missiles, according to imagery and analysis by IHS Jane's, the British security consultancy.
While IHS Jane's analysts did not see actual missiles, the sites include command and control facilities and underground bunkers that likely conceal missiles and launchers nearby, said Allison Puccioni, a senior image analyst at IHS Jane's.
The discovery is a sign that Saudi Arabia has prepared for the possibility that Iran will become a nuclear power, and it's a reminder that a decades-long truce between Saudi Arabia and Israel is just that, and not a peace treaty, says Michael Rubin, an analyst at the American Enterprise Institute who briefs members of the U.S. military on Iran.
The Saudis' "predominant fear is that Iran will become a nuclear power," Rubin said. "They're showing they're serious."...
If they were really serious, they'd work with Israel, not against it.

A Case of the Inmates Running the Asylum--and Imposing Sharia Rules on Everyone

Islamic extremists threaten to stab fellow inmates who eat pork in front of them at one of Britain's toughest jails, a prisoner has claimed.
The 'long serving prisoner' at HMP Long Lartin said cooking pork at the communal kitchen is 'deemed dangerous, even a threat to your life'.
The anonymous man made the claims in a letter to prisoners' magazine Inside Time.
He claims inmates at the jail are being radicalised but the issue is not being addressed by prison bosses.
'Terror' preacher Abu Hamza and radical cleric Abu Qatada have both been held at the prison.
The inmate wrote: 'The kitchen is usually occupied by 90 per cent Muslims and we have been told if we cook pork we will be stabbed. There have been incidents here where people have been targeted and pressured and bullied into converting to Islam.
'Young Muslim men are being radicalised in here and one day they may commit acts of terrorism in this country.
'There seems to be nothing being done here to stop it and people are scared to speak out.'
The man also claimed Muslim inmates celebrated the murder of Drummer Lee Rigby at the Category A prison...

Nigeria Islamists target schools to destroy Western ideas

Yeah, because those Nigerian Islamist ideas are sooooo much better.

"Has the Arab Spring Been Detrimental to Women?"

The answer to that is obvious unless you think being forced to toe the sharia line is good for chicks.

Gaza Farmers Refuse to Get With the BDS Program, Attend Conference in Israel

The Israel-bashers, the ones who keep claiming that Gaza is a "concentration camp," are outraged:
Two groups of Arab farmers left Gaza this week to attend an agricultural seminar in northern Israel with the goal of improving Gaza’s agricultural industry. According to the office of the Coordination of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT), 60 Gazans participated in the conference despite calls from the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement calling to boycott Israeli products and industries.
The conference was sponsored by Origins Seeds Company, which exports cucurbitacae (cucumbers, melons, pumpkins, and similar fruit) and seeds to 17 countries, including Hamas-controlled Gaza and Palestinian Authority-controlled territory...
Sucks to be you, BDSers.

Dayan, Khomeini, "Collective Punishment" and Al Quds Day 2013

Israeli General Moshe Dayan was the one who "ordered the Israeli flag removed from the Dome of the Rock, and gave administrative control of the Temple Mount over to the Waqf, a Muslim council. Dayan believed that the Temple Mount was more important to Judaism as a historical rather than holy site." And yet the poster below (from Australia) portrays Dayan as one of those Zionist "racists" of the Ayatollah Khomeini's fevered imaginings, a fever which just happens to be the impetus behind his annual Trash Zion, er, sorry "Freedom" and "Justice" for Palestine Day. Here's what the old goat said when he declared the day back in 1979, hoping to get rid of the Jooooish usurpers and unite a fractured and fractious Muslim world via their loathing for a common enemy:
I invite Muslims all over the globe to consecrate the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan as Al-Quds Day and to proclaim the international solidarity of Muslims in support of the legitimate rights of the Muslim people of Palestine. For many years, I have been notifying the Muslims of the danger posed by the usurper Israel which today has intensified its savage attacks against the Palestinian brothers and sisters, and which, in the south of Lebanon in particular, is continually bombing Palestinian homes in the hope of crushing the Palestinian struggle. I ask all the Muslims of the world and the Muslim governments to join together to sever the hand of this usurper and its supporters. I call on all the Muslims of the world to select as Al-Quds Day the last Friday in the holy month of Ramadan — which is itself a determining period and can also be the determiner of the Palestinian people’s fate — and through a ceremony demonstrating the solidarity of Muslims world-wide, announce their support for the legitimate rights of the Muslim people. I ask God Almighty for the victory of the Muslims over the infidels
Gee, who do you suppose sounds more guilty of calling for collective punishment--the guy who essentially gave away the Temple Mount, or the guy who wanted to "sever the hand of [the] usurper"?

Hope This Doesn't Give Jihadis Any Ideas--Meth Dealer Hides Loaded Gun in Her Lady Part

Never mind jihadis. Let's hope she doesn't give any America's Got Talent contestants ideas.

Is It Fear and/or Fear of Losing Favour and/or Agreement With the Obama Ideology?

Caroline Glick tries to account for the silence of America's Official Jews in the face of revelations about IRS discrimination against pro-Israel groups:
It’s possible that they are silent because they are afraid.
Groups like the Anti-Defamation League and the American Jewish Committee have multi-million dollar budgets and they prize their access to the White House and the State Department.
Their leadership may fear that by objecting to anti-Israel discrimination, they will stop getting invited to White House Hanukka parties or that they themselves will become the targets of unjustified Federal investigations.
Perhaps it is fear. But perhaps they are silent because they share the goal of silencing voices that refuse to accept the Obama administration’s assertion that it is pro-Israel to support the establishment of a Palestinian terror state in Israel’s capital and in its historic and strategic heartland.
Perhaps they wish to muzzle Jews who refuse to accept that it is pro-Israel to be anti-Israel.
